| Analysis: One Smokin Cat stalked the early pace and made a mild late rally to finish fourth last out in his first go off a seven month layoff. The colt caught a racing strip that was playing to inside speed that day. The colt comes back here with blinkers added and figures to move forward second off the bench for the Guillo barn. Two back last fall here he was sixth against state bred maiden special weight company in a highly graded race that produced three next out winners. Skyhook was not much of a threat in his debut against state bred maiden special weight company, sent off at 17-1 in a field of 12. he drops into a much easier spot here and appears to have more upside than most of these, seven of these having lost at least seven times. The Kimmel barn is showing a 10% win clip with second out maidens and is having a tough meeting (1 for 16) with five seconds. The gelding has one sib that is a winner, 3 for 12 Sweet M K ($46,892). |
